Credentialing & Compliance Coordinator

What you will own

These responsibilities describe the core work of this role. Final assignments remain within the professional's verified qualifications, scope, privileges, and program requirements.

Collect required applications, attestations, licenses, transcripts, certifications, liability coverage, references, tax documents, and screening authorizations for each workforce category.

Perform and document primary-source verification using the correct board, registry, database, or issuing institution and record the verification date and result.

Complete exclusion, sanctions, background, and other required screenings at onboarding and the established recurring frequency.

Maintain expiration alerts and recredentialing work queues for licenses, certifications, insurance, registrations, training, supervision, and payer requirements.

Prepare and track CAQH, NPPES, TMHP, MCO, roster, demographic, reassignment, and other provider-enrollment submissions as assigned.

Reconcile payer requests, information discrepancies, returned applications, effective dates, terminations, and roster status through documented follow-up.

Maintain controlled onboarding, training, competency, supervision, contracting, and service-readiness evidence without treating completion as approval when requirements remain outstanding.

Prevent assignment or billing when required clearance, credentialing, enrollment, authorization, or documentation is incomplete and escalate discrepancies promptly.

Prepare audit-ready files, controlled reports, and status dashboards while protecting confidential workforce and credentialing information.

Minimum qualifications

  • Healthcare credentialing, compliance, or provider-enrollment experience.
  • Strong document-control and deadline-management skills.
  • Ability to perform precise primary-source verification.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and secure records.
  • Successful background and exclusion screening.

Valued

Preferred qualifications

  • Texas Medicaid, TMHP, CAQH, NPPES, Medicare, or MCO experience.
  • Behavioral health provider credentialing.
  • Experience with license and exclusion monitoring.
  • Process-improvement and reporting skills.
