MHTCM Supervisor

Provide compliant clinical supervision and operational oversight for mental health targeted case management, while developing staff competency, documentation quality, and reliable service delivery.

Provide and document supervision for assigned mental health case managers at the frequency and in the format required by Chancewell, Medicaid, and applicable payer standards.

Maintain demonstrated competency in MHTCM evidence-based practices and verify required job-specific competencies for supervised staff.

Review caseloads, plans of care, referrals, coordination activity, barriers, follow-up, and closure to ensure work remains purposeful and authorized.

Review documentation for timeliness, service definition, plan alignment, role boundaries, and evidence that coordination actions were completed or appropriately followed up.

Coach staff on community-resource navigation, family and provider communication, privacy, field safety, incident response, and escalation.

Monitor authorizations, required contacts, missed services, overdue documentation, productivity trends, and corrective-action completion without compromising service integrity.

Escalate diagnostic, medical-necessity, treatment-plan, risk, or other clinical decisions to the appropriate LPHA or psychiatric professional.

Support onboarding, competency verification, case assignment, performance feedback, corrective action, and service-readiness decisions.

Prepare for internal reviews, MCO monitoring, audits, and quality-improvement work by maintaining complete supervision and oversight records.

Required

Minimum qualifications

  • Verified QMHP-CS qualification and documented MHTCM competency.
  • Ability to serve as an employee of the comprehensive provider agency.
  • Relevant supervisory and community behavioral health experience.
  • Strong knowledge of documentation, medical necessity, supervision, and quality standards.
  • Successful credentialing and required screenings.

Preferred qualifications

  • Texas MHTCM, MHR, CMBHS, TRR, or MCO experience.
  • CANS and ANSA certification.
  • Experience supervising field-based teams.
  • Quality-improvement or audit experience.
